What a summer it has been! From unforgettable nights of jazz with Alan Cook and company—where even a sudden storm and a broken instrument couldn’t stop the music, to the mind-blowing sounds of Sturtz, who lit up our outdoor stage with their Alt/Bluegrass groove, we’ve been riding a wave of energy and community. Every show reminds us why we do this: good music, relationships, and the joy of sharing it all with friends old and new.
We’ve also been out in the community, pouring at concerts at the lake and Squirrel Fest, reconnecting with so many of you. Longview truly shines in summer—it’s a blessing to live here, and we’re grateful for every moment.
On a personal note, Nancy and I made the long drive up to Seattle for our lifelong friend Bruce Norquist’s memorial service. That journey hit home the reality of how spread out—and sometimes disconnectedlife can feel in the city. It made us appreciate our own close-knit community even more. And yes, a few tears were shed as we sent our sweet granddaughter Alice off to college. She’s been such a bright presence at the winery, and we know many of you will miss her smile as much as we do.
But summer isn’t over yet—we’re just getting started!
August 28 – we host the incomparable John Stowell, joined by Jack Radsliff, Andrew Jones, and Alan Cook. More jazz offerings are on the way, so stay tuned!
And big news for our wine family: Dolcetto is coming back! For years, the “Dolcetto Man” has stood guard over our tasting room as a symbol of Roland Wines. Now, thanks to Herron Bluff Vineyard, this beloved wine is making its return. To celebrate, we’re offering 50 cases as futures at 30% off—a limited-time chance to be part of the comeback. Supporters will enjoy not just the wine but some fun, exclusive experiences along the way. Details at BringBackDolcetto.com.
This season is all about music, community, and the wines that tell our story. We can’t wait to share it all with you.
