2014 La Chanson

Vineyard: Stillwater Creek, Red Willow Vineyard

Vintage: 2014

Tasting Notes: This wine has rich dark fruit flavors with smooth integrated tannins. It is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc.  Aged in new French and American oak for 16 months. This is an elegant wine with layers of flavor. Look for black current, raspberry jam and a sweet herb finish. Well balanced and generous on the palette.

La Chanson is French for ‘the song’. It is named after the Song Of Roland,  an epic poem describing the heroics of Roland the rear guard of Charlemagne. This is our flagship wine and the first in a series of 3 wines with a similar theme. We will be releasing the second wine in the spring of 2013. It will be a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon called ‘The Olifont’ which is the horn that Roland carried into battle. The third in the series is ‘Durandel’ this is the sword of Roland and the wine is a Sangiovese super Tuscan.
